The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Senegal: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.

Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travelers arriving from, or having transited through, yellow fever endemic countries. Direct arrivals from non-endemic countries, including all countries in Europe and North America, are not required to show the certificate. If you are traveling directly from the United States and transit through another country, it is NOT REQUIRED.

Travelers should take anti-malaria medication before, during, and after their trip to prevent malaria. Travelers should also take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
