Lets bring in the new year together in the motherland!!
THE ITINERARY
day 1- arrive in dakar, senegal
You will arrive at Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) in the town of Diass, which is 27 miles east of downtown Dakar; the capital city of Senegal.
You will be picked up from the airport by our driver and taken to “Casa de URBN TRVL”!
One of the URBN TRVL hosts will greet you and show you to your room. Get settled in and for those not jet-lagged, we will go out to enjoy our first night in Dakar!!
day 2- explore dakar city and goree island
Enjoy the day exploring the bustling city of Dakar. We will see the impressive African Renaissance Monument, Soumbedioune Market, Loman Art House, etc before embarking to Goree by ferry.
Goree Island is an important place in remembrance of the transatlantic slave trade; where nearly 2 million people, from across West Africa, were taken to the Americas, never to return.
day 3- atv’s and pink lake
Take a ride along the Atlantic coast towards the gorgeous Lac Rose (pink lake). At the lake, you will meet the traditional salt harvesters and semi-nomadic herders from the Fulani ethnic group living in the surrounding areas.
You will also get a chance to hit the sand dunes in ATVs!
DAY 4- safari at bandia wildlife reserve
Take a half-day safari to Bandia Wildlife Reserve to see amazing animals like giraffes, rhinos, buffaloes, monkeys, and more.
Afterwards, enjoy a ride across the Somone Lagoon to observe the aquatic species of the region.
DAY 5- chill day and nye party
Today is about maxin’ and relaxin’ during the day and getting ready to bring in the New Year with a BANG!!
We’re getting suited & booted to ring-in 2021 in an electric atmosphere.
Day 6- Touba
On the first day of the New Year, we will go to Touba, the most famous Muslim pilgrimage destination in all of West Africa, located 120 miles east of Dakar; to learn about the local culture.
There, we will marvel at the Grand Mosque of Touba, founded by the infamous Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, one of the largest mosques in Africa.
Day 7- Souvenir shopping
Sleep in and really take it easy after the long week of packed adventures and long nights. Chill and enjoy everyone’s company in the villa or make plans to head out and go shopping for souvenirs to take back home.

Visas & Immunizations
Senegal no longer requires visas for U.S. citizens for stays of fewer than 90 days. The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Senegal: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.
Yellow fever vaccination is required for all travelers arriving from, or having transited through, yellow fever endemic countries. Direct arrivals from non-endemic countries, including all countries in Europe and North America, are not required to show the certificate. If you are traveling directly from the United States and transit through another country, it is NOT REQUIRED.
Travelers should take anti-malaria medication before, during, and after their trip to prevent malaria. Travelers should also take steps to avoid mosquito bites.
